He was the son of Joseph and Helen Rudolph of Norfolk, Va. Jim was an accomplished carpenter and businessman. He founded Rudolph Construction, which began with him working on small projects out of his garage on nights and weekends, and went on to build schools, courthouses, and hospitals along the east coast, employing hundreds of his fellow craftsmen over a span of 20 years. Jim also took great pride in the beach house that he built with the help of many friends in the Outer Banks. He was a kind and generous man who loved the beach and was passionate about his friends, family, and beloved dogs and cats. Jim is survived by his son, Jason (and wife, Michelle); his brothers, Joe (and wife, Catherine) and Johnny (and wife, Debbie); his sister Elaine; and his nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind Ryan Werts (whom he loved like a son), Terre Werts, Stephanie Smith, and a host of devoted friends.
