Virginian-Pilot May 31, 1956

Cornelius F. Rudolph, 61, former U.S. Shipping Commissioner for Norfolk and 
Newport News, died in Baltimore, Md., Monday at 9:30 p.m.
After leaving Norfolk, Mr. Rudolph entered the Coast Guard service and was a 
chief petty officer at the time of his death. He also spent some time in New 
York.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Sally Malbon Rudolph; a daughter, Mrs. Cornelia 
R. Fotion, of Newport News and one sister, Mrs. Ernest Cherry, of Norfolk.
The body will be taken from the H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments to St. Mary's 
Catholic Church for funeral services Saturday at 10 a.m. Rosary services will be 
conducted at the funeral apartments tomorrow at 7:30 p.m.
