The driver of the auto and Mr. Ruggieri had long been personal friends. It is thought maybe he saw his friend passing in the automobile and had run into the street to join him. The driver did not see him until he was almost in front of the car. Ruggieri evidently stumbled and fell beneath the wheels too late for the driver to bring the car to a stop. Ruggieri had lived at 606 Cove Street about 8 years, occupying one floor in the home of Dr. James Barclay, veterinary surgeon. For the 38 years that he had lived in Norfolk he was employed as a musician and plied his trade as a jeweler. He had no immediate family, so far as could be learned last night, although several relatives are supposed to live in New York. He had come to this country from Italy about 40 years ago and is believed to have been between 56 and 57 years old. ******************************************************************************** The funeral of Michael Ruggieri will take place today at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic church and will be conducted by Rev. P. P. Brennan. Burial will be in St. Mary’s cemetery.
