NORFOLK - Mrs. Alice Walsh McCauley Rule, widow of Joseph Edward Rule, died 
Wednesday at 3:15 p.m. in her home, at 722 Wiley Drive.
She was a native of Newfoundland, Canada, daughter of Edward and Mrs. Mary 
Elizabeth Simone Walsh, and a resident of Norfolk most of her life. She was a 
member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Sodality of the Blessed Virgin Mary, and 
Order of Pocahontas.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Catherine T. Bailey and Mrs. Aileen W. 
Brown of Norfolk and Mrs. Elizabeth Egolf of
Bloomington, Ind.; two sons, Walter M. McCauley of Norfolk and John E. McCauley of 
Los Angeles; a sister, Mrs. Clara Joy of Newfoundland; 16 grandchildren and seven 
great-grandchildren.
The body will be taken from H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments to St Mary’s Catholic 
Church for a funeral service Saturday at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary’s 
Cemetery. The Rosary will be recited in the funeral apartments Friday at 7:30 p.m.
