The Virginian Pilot Tuesday April 8, 1980
VIRGINIA BEACH - John David Rush Jr., 74, of 1536 McCullough Lane, a retired 
sergeant of the Virginia State Police and a native of Norfolk, died Sunday 
in a hospital.
He was with the State Police for 32 years and was a member of First 
Presbyterian Church of Norfolk.
Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Edward M. Baum of Norfolk and Miss Julia 
C. Rush of Virginia Beach; and a brother, Joseph F. Rush, of Virginia Beach.
The body was taken to Cox Funeral Home, Norfolk.
A funeral will be held 11 a.m. today in Elmwood Cemetery, Norfolk, by the 
Rev. Richard Lovingood and Dr. William F. Summers.  Memorial donations may 
be made to the Virginia Beach Rescue Squad or to a charity of the donor's 
choice.
