Norfolk Virginian Pilot Friday April 18, 1941
Mrs. Blanche Hall Russ, aged 51 years, wife of Walter C. Russ, and daughter 
of the late Joseph J. and Mrs. Hattie Whitehurst Hall, died at 9:27 o'clock 
Thursday morning at a local hospital.  Mrs. Russ, a native and lifelong 
resident of Norfolk, resided at 821 Brandon avenue.  Besides her husband, 
Walter C. Russ, she is survived by one son, Stuart H. Russ, both of Norfolk.  
Services will be held at the chapel of the H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, 
1501 Colonial avenue, Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock, with the Rev. Sparks 
W. Melton, D.D., pastor of Freemason Street Baptist Church, of which Mrs. 
Russ was a member officiating.  Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
