Ledger Dispatch November 25, 1939
Mrs. Margaret Ann Russell, 71, died at her residence, 111 West Thirty-First 
Street, today at 2 a.m.
 
She had been ill for a long time. She was the wife of B.L. Russell and a 
daughter of the late Joseph and Catherine Bateman.
 
She was a member of Park Avenue Presbyterian Church.  She was a native of St. 
Bride’s but had resided in Norfolk for the last 50 years.
 
In addition to her husband she is survived by two daughters, Mrs. George W. 
Bossuot and Mrs. C. Early Dawley; four sons, B.T. Bateman, J. P. Moss, J. B. 
Moss and S.E. Moss of Philippine Islands; ten grandchildren and several nieces 
and nephews.
 
The body was taken to the funeral home of Paul B. Warren and Son. 1102 
Colonial Avenue, from which it will be taken Park Avenue Presbyterian Church 
for services at 3 p.m. The Rev. Frank H. Scattergood, D. D. will officiate. 
Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
