Virginian Pilot September 27, 1989

Nannie Bell Russell, 90, formerly of Smithfield, died Sept. 25, 1989, in a 
hospital.
Miss Russell, a native of Norfolk, retired as manager of Virginia Power's 
Smithfield office after 35 years.  She was a former employee of National 
Cathedral School in Washington, D.C. and Gwaltney Motor Co. in Smithfield.  She 
was a member of Christ Episcopal Church, Smithfield, and an officer in the 
Women's Army Corps during World War II.
Survivors include several cousins.
The graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Magnolia 
Cemetery, Norfolk, by the Rev. Harry A. Woggon.  Colonial Funeral Home, 
Smithfield, is handling arrangements.
