Mr. Russell, also known as ``Cotton'' and ``Uncle Buster,'' retired from Norfolk Western Railroad after 30 years of service, after which he was a Sexton at First Baptist Church Lambert's Point for many years. Mr. Russell was a member of First Baptist Church Lambert's Point and all of the choirs. He was a member of Arabia Temple No. 12 and Excelsior Chapter No. 87. He was predeceased by his parents, Richard Russell and Amanda Charity Russell. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Doris Russell; a daughter, Gilda H. Northern of Norfolk; two sons, Danny House of Lagrangeville, N.Y., and Lonnie House of Grafton, Mass.; seven grandchildren, along with many other loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A wake service will be held Friday at First Baptist Church Lambert's Point from 7 to 8 p.m. where a funeral will be Saturday at noon. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . The family will meet at 11 a.m. at the residence for the procession. Hale Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
