PORTSMOUTH - Dr. Augustine Joseph Russo, 74, of 22 Bainbridge Ave., who had 
practiced medicine in Portsmouth since 1921, died Saturday at 4:45 a.m. in a 
hospital.
He was the husband of the late Mrs. Marguerite Rosalie Russo and a son of Joseph 
Augustine and Mrs. Leboria Bisese Russo.
He was a native of Baltimore and lived in the Portsmouth area most of his life.
He was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church, Catholic Club, Portsmouth Elks 
Lodge 82, Alumni of Medica1 College of Virginia, Medical Society of Virginia, 
and American Medical Association.
He was on the staff of Maryview Hospital and Portsmouth General Hospital.
He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. George E. Perrot Jr., and a son, Joseph E. 
Russo, both of Portsmouth; two sisters, Sister Leona Russo of Timonium, Md., and 
Sister Mary Russo of Baltimore; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
The body was taken to Foster Funeral Home, where the Rosary will be recited 
tonight at 7:30.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Holy Angels Catholic Church. 
Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Norfolk.
