Virginian Pilot and The Norfolk Landmark June 27, 1919

Mrs. Maria Rosa Russo, widow of F.C. Russo, died Wednesday evening at her home, 
Mariner Street, in her 76th year. She leaves two daughters, Mrs. Mary C. Lascara 
and Mrs. Carolyn Pennello, both of this city, and eighteen grandchildren. She 
was for many years a resident of Norfolk and a communicant of St. Mary's 
Catholic Church. The funeral service will be held tomorrow at 10 o'clock in the 
morning. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.

RUSSO, MARIA ROSA — At the residence, 902 Mariner street, Wednesday, June 
25,1919, at 10:15 o’clock p.m., MARIA ROSA, widow of F. C. Russo, in the 76th 
year of her age.

Funeral services at St. Mary's Catholic church SATURDAY MORNING at 10 o’clock. 
Friends of the family are invited to attend.

The funeral of Mrs. Maria Rosa Russo was held yesterday at St. Mary's Catholic 
church, with Monsignor J. T. O'Farrell presiding; Rev. P. P. Brennan, celebrant;  
Rev. George Dunn, deacon; Rev. Joseph Rooney, sub-deacon; Rev. R B. Kealey, 
master of ceremonies. During the service, Mrs. James Hughes sang “Abide With 
Me.” Burial was in St. Mary’s cemetery, pallbearers being grandchildren of the 
deceased, D. P. Lascara, John Lascara, Vincent Lascara, Pedro Caleo, John F. 
Penello, Otto Penello, Angelo J. Penello and Vincent Penello.
