Virginian Pilot November 10, 1955

Augustine Joseph Russo, 61, husband of Mrs. Josephine Rossano Russo and son of 
Philip and Mrs. Mary Russo, died yesterday at 11 a.m. at San Diego, Calif., 
after a short illness while visiting relatives there. 
He was a native of Baltimore and had spent practically his entire life in this 
section, residing at 1800 Colonial Avenue at the time of his death. He was a 
member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. For many years he was employed in the 
public works department of the Norfolk Naval Shipyard and for several years 
since his retirement from the shipyard he has been a representative of the 
Lincoln National Life Insurance Company.
Beside his wife he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Sam J. Annunziata and Miss 
Antoinette Russo; three sons, Philip Lee, Rocco L. and Augustine J .Russo, Jr.; 
five grandchildren and a brother, Samuel Russo, all of Norfolk. The body will be 
brought to Norfolk and taken to the H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments.

Augustine Joseph Russo – The body of Mr. Russo, who died Wednesday in Chula 
Vista, Calif., will be taken from the H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments to Sacred 
Heart Catholic Church for services today at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary’s 
Cemetery.
