The friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral from St. Vincent’s Hospital MONDAY MORNING at 10 o’clock. No flowers. *************************************************************************** The funeral of Captain Patrick Henry Ryan, one of the old citizens of Norfolk, and widely known here, who died suddenly Saturday evening at the Hospital of St. Vincent de Paul, where he has lived for some years, aged 77 years, took place from St. Vincent's Hospital yesterday morning. In his early manhood Captain Ryan was a seafaring man and commanded several ships which sailed in and out of this harbor. The services were conducted by Rev. John Doherty, pastor of St. Mary's Catholic Church, and the remains were borne to the hearse by eight well dressed colored men, who also took the casket to the grave in St. Mary's Cemetery. The following gentlemen were the honorary pallbearers: Messrs. S. Marsh, Capt. Jos. R. Spratley, Wm. Denby, Col. W.B. Rogers, John W. Burrow and P. Smith.
