Ryan, an aged and venerable citizen, died at his residence, on Bermuda Street, yesterday, in the house in which he was born on November 23, 1808. Captain Ryan, up to the last twenty-five years of his life, followed the sea and had crossed the ocean many times. During the Mexican war he was engaged in transporting troops from New Orleans to Mexico, out of which port he sailed for many years. It may be truly said of him that he was a remarkable man, possessed of a retentive memory and fine conversational powers. In truth to say excelled by few. His health for the last two years has been failing and for the last ten or twelve months he has been constantly confined to his bed. He leaves a widow and many relatives, who have the sympathy of the community. His funeral will take place from St. Mary's Church tomorrow morning at 9 o'clock. ************ RYAN – On the 12th instant at 7 p.m., at his residence, 38 Bermuda street, Captain JAMES C.
