Norfolk Virginian Pilot April 28, 1944

Mrs. Elizabeth Kavanaugh Ryan, 62, widow of Martin J. Ryan and daughter of the 
late Brian and Mrs. Mary Gaul Kavanaugh, a lifelong resident of Norfolk, died at 
a local hospital last night at 8 o'clock. Surviving her are two sons, William B. 
and Emmett J. Ryan; a daughter Miss Elizabeth J. Ryan; six grandchildren; three 
great grandchildren and a sister, Miss Mary Kavanaugh, all of Norfolk. The body 
will be taken from the residence, 4804 Newport Avenue, to Blessed Sacrament 
Catholic Church, of which Mrs. Ryan was a member, for funeral services Monday 
morning at 10 o'clock. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Rosary services 
will be held at the residence Sunday night at 8 o'clock.
