Virginian Pilot  May 17, 1965

 Emmett Joseph Ryan, 73, of 4804 Newport Ave., son of Martin Joseph and Mrs. 
Elizabeth Kavanaugh Ryan, died at a hospital Sunday at 7:30 a.m.
A lifelong resident of Norfolk, he was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic 
Church and its Holy Name Society. He was a World War I Veteran.
He is survived by a sister, Miss Elizabeth J. Ryan of Norfolk.
A funeral service will be conducted in Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Colley 
Avenue, Tuesday at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
The Rosary will be said in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Norfolk, tonight at 
7:30.

RYAN, EMMETT JOSEPH - At a local hospital, Sunday, May 16th, 1965, at 7:30 a.m., 
EMMETT JOSEPH, son of the late Martin Joseph and Mrs. Elizabeth Kavanaugh Ryan, 
in the 74th year of his age. Remains will be taken from the H. D. Oliver Funeral 
Apartments to Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Colley Avenue, for services 
today (Tuesday) at 10 a.m. Friends of the family are invited to attend. 
Interment, St. Mary’s Cemetery.
