Norfolk Virginian October 18, 1894

RYAN - At the residence of his brother, Mr. Daniel J. Ryan, corner of Holliday 
and Chestnut streets, Portsmouth, Va., Tuesday, October 16th, 9 a.m., WILLIAM 
RYAN, in the 46th year of his age.
Funeral from St. Paul's Catholic Church THIS (Thursday) MORNING at 10 o'clock. 
Friends and acquaintances are invited to attend.

The funeral of Mr. William Ryan took place at 10 o'clock yesterday morning from 
St. Paul's Catholic Church and was largely attended. The Rev. Father Brady 
conducted the solemn services, after which the remains were followed to their 
last resting place in St. Mary's Cemetery in Norfolk by a large concourse of 
friends. The pallbearers were six gentlemen from Norfolk: D.J. Ryan, D.C. Bell, 
Peter Burns, J.T. Kemp, Patrick Noonan, Martin Cashin.
