A native of Norfolk, she was the daughter of the late George Cotton and Rebecca Gordon Cotton, and the widow of the Rev. Benjamin S. Salter . She was a faithful member of First Calvary Baptist Church and a very active member of the Missionary Circle prior to her illness. She was also a member of Lane Memorial Tent No. 185 and Queen Esther-New Wheaton Chapter No. 2, OES. Left to cherish her memory are a son, Calvin Parker; a daughter, Jean S. Thompson; 45 grandchildren; 74 great-grandchildren; 25 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws, relatives and friends. She was predeceased by James Parker, George L. Parker, Addison L. Parker, Julia S. Garrett and Rebecca Hill. A homegoing service will be held at noon Tuesday in First Calvary Baptist Church by Dr. J.L. White with burial in Calvary Cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 10 a.m. A Christian wake will be held at 7 p.m. Monday at Graves Funeral Home.
