Norfolk Virginian Pilot November 13, 1947
Mrs. Grace Hitchins Salyer, 72, widow of W.J. Salyer, died at the residence, 
1116 Brambleton Avenue, yesterday at 6 p.m. She is survived by a son, W. 
Linwood Salyer; a sister, Mrs. Maude Walker; and a grandchild, all of Norfolk. 
She was a native of Portsmouth and had been a resident of Norfolk for 65 years. 
Private funeral services will be conducted at the Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home 
tomorrow at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery,

Mrs. Grace Hitchings Salyer - Funeral services for Mrs. Salyer will be 
conducted at the Hollomon-Brown Funeral home today at 11 a.m. by the Rev. J. F. 
Morgan, pastor of the Second Congregational Christian Church. Burial will be in 
Elmwood Cemetery.
