Salyer, custodian of the Boush Street public school, died Wednesday night at the residence, 1306 Brambleton Avenue, in his 72 year. He was a native of North Carolina and had lived in Norfolk 36 years. He was a Confederate veteran and served in 68th North Carolina Infantry under General Ransom. He is survived by two sons, S.E. and W.J. Salyer and six grandchildren, all of Norfolk. The funeral will be held this afternoon at 2 o'clock at Oliver's Funeral Apartments, 608-10 E. Freemason Street, Rev. W.H. Denison, D.D., of Memorial Christian Temple, officiating. Burial in Elmwood.
