Mullen Salyer, wife of ex-Police Officer Samuel E. Salyer, died at her home, 116 North Maltby Avenue, at 12:15 a.m. yesterday in the forty-sixth year of her age. The deceased lady was born in Raleigh, N.C. but had been a resident of Norfolk for twenty-six years, where she was well known and highly esteemed for her many beautiful traits of character and Christian virtues. She was for many years an active member of the Memorial Christian Temple and was recognized as one of its most efficient workers and was at one time president of the Ladies' Aid Society of the Memorial Christian Temple and a teacher of the Young Women's Philathea Bible class. She is survived by five children, four sons, Marion E., Harry D., Leroy J. and S.E. Salyer, Jr. and one daughter, Miss Hazel V. Salyer and her husband. The funeral will be held at the Memorial Christian Church at 4 o'clock this afternoon and will be conducted by the pastor, Rev. W.H. Denison, D.D. The interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
