Salyer died yesterday morning at 8:30 o'clock at his residence, 1306 Brambleton Avenue, following an illness of several weeks. He was a native of Norfolk and was 22 years old. He was a member of the Christian Memorial Temple and was formerly color sergeant in the Fourth Virginia regiment. Surviving him are his wife, his father, S.E. Salyer; his grandfather, S.S. Salyer; a sister, Miss Hazel Salyer and three brothers, Marion E., Harry D. and Samuel E. Salyer, Jr., all of Norfolk. The funeral will take place Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the residence and will be conducted by Rev. Warren H. Denison, of the Christian Memorial Temple. The burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
