She was a native of Puerto Rico and had been a Norfolk resident for the past three years. She was a former resident of Silver Spring, Md., for 40 years. Mrs. Sandved retired in 1964 as a Spanish teacher for the U.S. government after 18 years. She also was a librarian for the U.S. Library of Congress in Washington, D.C. She was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Kurt Sandved. Mrs. Sandved is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Karina M. Sandved and John Mansoor of Norfolk and two granddaughters, Katie and Claire Mansoor. Memorial services will be private. Family requests that contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Disease and Related Disorders Association, 6315 N. Center Drive, Suite 233, Norfolk, VA 23502. H.D.
