She was the widow of Emmanuel Joseph Santos. A native of Philadelphia, she was educated in St. Mary Magedolyn School by the Sisters of St. Francis, Philadelphia. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and the Christ Child Circle. She was one of the first volunteer workers at St. Mary's Infant Home. She was a member and first president of the 60-Plus Club of Ocean View, first president of the Catholic Middle Age Club, charter member of the Lenox Garden Club and of the Ladies Auxiliary of Machinists. She was garden club president at one time and a state organizer for many years. She frequently had cared for foster children in her home. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Rose S. Zinkl and Mrs. Veronica Mary Hartig, a son, John J. Santos, and a foster son, Carroll Roberts, all of Norfolk; a sister, Mrs. Rose Sindaco of Philadelphia; seven grandchildren; and nine great- grandchildren. A Christian Wake service will be held Sunday at 8 p.m. in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive. A funeral service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in Holy Trinity Catholic Church with burial in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
