NORFOLK—Mrs. Evelyn Byrd Trigg Sargeant, 92, of 7211 Granby St., member of an old 
Virginia family, died Thursday afternoon in a hospital.

A native of Abingdon, she was the widow of George Harris Sargeant and a daughter 
of Daniel and Mrs. Louisa Johnston Trigg.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Surviving are two sons, George Harris Sargeant Jr. of Newport News and Ben 
Johnston Sargeant of Charlottesville; and two daughters, Mrs. James Iredell of 
Smithfield and Mrs. John G. Wallace III of Chesapeake.

The body was taken to H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Norfolk.

The family requests that flowers be omitted.

A funeral service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in Sacred Heart Catholic Church 
by the Rev. Raymond Barton. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. The family will 
be at 1037 Westover Ave.
