Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Wednesday, May 5, 1993 
Joseph A. Satterfield Jr., of the 3900 block of Llewellyn Ave., a retired
longshoreman, died May 1, 1993, in a local hospital.

Mr. Satterfield was born in New York City and was the widower of Esther
Satterfield. He was a member of the International Longshoreman's Association.

Survivors include two daughters, Jacquelyn Satterfield Smith of New Rochelle,
N.Y., and Terry Jones of Norfolk; two sons, Joseph Satterfield and Reginald
Satterfield, both of New York City; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren;
one son-in-law; two daughters-in-law; two sisters-in-law; and other relatives
and friends.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Graves Funeral Home by the
Rev. J.L. Kearney. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . Family and friends will
assemble at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Thursday. A wake service will be from
6:30 to 8 p.m. today.
