Virginian Pilot June 20, 1997

Nellie Hurst Satterfield, 74, of the 700 block of Pinebrook Drive passed away 
Thursday, June 19, 1997, in her residence. She was born in Norfolk and was the 
daughter of the late Pearl Lewis Hurst and Edgar Lee Hurst. Mrs. Satterfield was 
a former member of the Christian Temple of Norfolk.
Survivors include her husband, Charles Nash Satterfield; two daughters, Becky 
Satterfield McBride of Virginia Beach and Judy Gail Satterfield of St. 
Petersburg Beach, Fla.; three grandchildren, a granddaughter in New York, a 
grandson in Florida and, locally, a grandson, Ryan Keith McBride of Newport 
News.
A graveside funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Elmwood Cemetery, 
Norfolk, by Dr. W. Emmett M. Diggs. The family will be in Cox Funeral Home today 
from 7 to 8 p.m. for visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may 
be made to Sentara Hospice Program, No. 8 Koger Executive Center, Suite 201, 
Norfolk, Va. 23502.
