Virginian Pilot June 25, 1998

Charles Nash Satterfield, 75, of the 700 block of Pinebrook Drive, died Tuesday, 
June 23, 1998, in his residence with his family by his side.
He was the retired president of the family-owned Satterfield Bros. Furniture 
Store in Norfolk. Before he joined the family business, he worked as a salesman 
for 25 years with the Virginia-Carolina Laundry Supply. He was born in Norfolk, 
a son of the late Louise Nash Satterfield and William Meade Satterfield Sr., and 
was the widower of Nellie Hurst Satterfield.
Mr. Satterfield was a member of Talbot Park Baptist Church in Norfolk and Ruth 
Masonic Lodge No. 89 where he served as one of their marshals. He was also a 
member of the Norfolk Scottish Rite Bodies and the Khedive Shrine Temple.
Survivors include two daughters, Becky Satterfield McBride of Virginia Beach and 
Judy Gail Satterfield of St. Petersburg, Fla.; a sister, Ann S. Gambil of 
Virginia Beach; a brother, William M. Satterfield Jr. of Virginia Beach; a 
grandson, Ryan Keith McBride of Newport News; a granddaughter in New York City; 
and a grandson in St. Petersburg.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Elmwood Cemetery by 
Dr. W. Emmett M. Diggs. The family will be at Cox Funeral Home from 7 to 8 p.m. 
today for visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sentara Hospice 
Program, No. 8 Koger Executive Center, Suite 201, Norfolk, Va. 23502 or to the 
American Heart Association.
