The Norfolk Virginian Pilot Monday December 9, 1940
Mrs. Mary Virginia Sauers, aged 67, widow of Charles A. Sauers, died at a local 
hospital Saturday night at 12 o'clock after a long illness. Mrs. Sauers was a 
native and lifelong resident of Norfolk. Surviving her are two daughters, Mrs. 
J.H. Hodges, of south Norfolk, and Miss Helen D. Sauers, of Lynchburg, and two 
sisters, Mrs. M. King and Mrs. U.S Sands of Norfolk.
