The Norfolk Virginian, November 29, 1895

The funeral of Mr. Coreo Saunders, who died in Mathews County Tuesday, and 
whose remains arrived here Wednesday evening, took place at the residence of 
the deceased’s son-in-law, Mrs. W.M. Burruss, Fourth Street, Atlantic City 
Ward, yesterday at 11 o’clock. Rev. J.T. Routten officiated, and the interment 
was in Elmwood Cemetery. Atlantic Lodge of Masons, to which he belonged, 
attended the funeral and escorted the body to the grave.
