The Norfolk Landmark January 1, 1893

Mrs. Kate Saunders, widow of the late Dr. L.K. Saunders, formerly of Elizabeth 
City, N.C., died last night of pneumonia at the residence of Dr. F.M. Morgan, on 
Berkley Avenue. Mrs. Saunders was a consistent member of St. Thomas' Episcopal 
Church, and her circle of friends in and out of the church circle will be pained 
to learn of her death. The funeral services will take place from St. Thomas' 
Church tomorrow morning at 11 o'clock.

The funeral of Mrs. Kate Saunders took place yesterday morning from St. Thomas' 
P.E. Church at 11 o'clock. The services were conducted by Rev. Dr. Hubard. The 
remains were interred in Magnolia Cemetery and the following gentlemen acted as 
pallbearers: Dr. J.B. Floyd, Judge G.D. Parker, John F. Dalby, J.A. McCoy, Geo. 
S. West, John M. Berkley, Thomas Tilley and B.C. Bilisoly.
