NORFOLK - Mrs. Thelma Olivia Savage of 2703 Marlboro Ave. died Thursday in a
hospital after a short illness.

A native of Norfolk, she was a daughter of the Rev. Estelle Hodges and the late
George Hodges and the wife of James Edward Savage Sr.

She was a member of Queen Street Baptist Church.

Besides her husband and mother, surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Jean Evelyn Cherry
and Mrs. Carolyn Ann Barber of Norfolk two sons, James E. Savage Jr. of Evanston,
Ill., and Ralph Meredith Savage of Norfolk; a brother, Ralph Hodges of Chesapeake; a
sister, Mrs. Dorcas Nelson of Norfolk; and five grandchildren.

The body was taken to Riddick Funeral Service.

Additional Comments:
NORFOLK - A funeral service for Mrs. Thelma Olivia Savage will be held Sunday at 1
p.m. in Queen street Baptist Church by the Rev. J. Jasper Freeman. Burial will be in
Calvary Cemetery with Riddick Funeral Service in charge. The body will be taken from
the funeral home to the church at 11 a.m.
