Virginian Pilot December 10 1949
Mrs. Sarah Carroll Savage, 63, wife of Thomas Overton Savage, died at her 
residence, 3115 Peronne Avenue, yesterday at 3:45 p.m. after an illness of one 
year. A native of Princess Anne County, she was the daughter of the late David 
and Mrs. Sabrina Harris Carroll. She had been a resident of Norfolk 57 years. 
She was a member of Spurgeon Memorial Baptist Church.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons, Thomas Oliver 
Savage, of Folcroft, Pa.; Merton E. Savage and Melvin W. Savage, both of 
Norfolk; two sisters, Mrs. Nannie M. Lowton, of Norfolk, and Mrs. Louise 
Etheridge of Wilmington, Del.; one brother, Walter David Carroll, of Exmore, 
and four grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Cox Funeral Home Sunday at 2 p.m. by 
the Rev. Moffett C. Booker, pastor of Spurgeon Memorial Baptist Church. Burial 
will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
