Saturday, June 22, 1963 Virginian-Pilot (Norfolk, Virginia)  

Chesapeake-William Franklin Sawyer, 91, of Deep Creek, died Thursday in a Port
Portsmouth hospital.
A native of Chesapeake, he was the husband of Mrs. Ethel Barco Sawyer and the son
son of John M. and Mary Pritchard Sawyer. He was a retired building inspector.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Miss Hazel Sawyer of Orlando, Fla.
The body was taken to Snellings Funeral Home, where a funeral service will be
held Sunday at 3:30 p.m. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Norfolk.
