Virginian Pilot and The Norfolk Landmark July 6, 1924 

William Sawyer, aged 58 years, died at his residence, 1216 Westmoreland Park, 
suddenly yesterday morning at 5 o'clock. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lillie 
Hunter Sawyer and one brother, Mr. Edward Sawyer. Funeral services will be 
conducted at the residence tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock. Burial will be in 
Elmwood Cemetery.
