Virginian Pilot September 6, 1901

Effie Mae, the 11 and 1/2 months old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James E. 
Sawyer, who has been ill for several months at their home, on Eleventh 
street and Mahone avenue, died yesterday afternoon at 5:45 o'clock.  She had 
been suffering from a complication of diseases and was their only child.  
The funeral will be conducted from the family residence this afternoon at 4 
o'clock.  Rev. M.P. Porter will officiate.  The interment will be in 
Magnolia Cemetery.

The funeral of little Effie Mae, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James E. Sawyer, 
was conducted from the family residence, on Eleventh street and Mahone 
avenue, yesterday afternoon at 4 o'clock, Rev. M.P. Porter, of Main Street 
Christian Church, officiating.  There were quite a number of the friends of 
the bereaved family present and many beautiful flowers were laid on her 
coffin.
