Norfolk - Richard Nathaniel Sawyer, 50, of 107 E. Liberty street, son of the 
Rev. Rosa Z. Sawyer and the late Richard N. Sawyer, was given a funeral service 
Sunday at Hood’s Chapel AME Church.  He died Aug. 5 in a Norfolk hospital.

A native of Norfolk County, Mr. Sawyer’s survivors include two daughters, Mrs. 
Richetta Blount of California and Mrs. Eugenia Bradley of Norfolk;  and a son, 
Richard N. Sawyer 3rd.

Burial was in Mt. Olive Cemetery under direction of Fitchett Funeral Home.
