Sawyer, age 74 years, died yesterday morning at 4:20 o'clock at the residence of his nephew, James Powers, of Rocky Mount, N.C., at which place he was on a visit. Mr. Sawyer was a native of Camden, N.C. and son of the late Malachi and Mrs. Elva Eason Sawyer, but had made his home in Rico, Co. forty years. He was here on a visit when he was taken sick and passed away. He is survived by a brother, Jesse Sawyer, South Mills, N.C. The funeral services will be conducted at the funeral apartments of E.Lee Cox this morning at 10 o'clock and burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. ******************************************************************* The funeral of Mack N. Sawyer, who died at the home of his nephew, James Powers, Rocky Mount, N.C., was conducted at the funeral apartments of E. Lee Company, Berkley avenue, yesterday morning at 10 o'clock, by Rev. O.D. Poythress, pastor of the South Norfolk Christian Church. The floral tributes were beautiful. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery.
