Virginian Pilot Sunday September 3, 1911

James Sawyer died at the City Home at 1 o'clock p.m. Friday.  The deceased 
was a native of North Carolina but had been a resident of Norfolk for 34 
years.  The funeral will be held from the apartments of Funeral Director, 
H.D. Oliver, 520 Freemason Street, this afternoon.

The funeral of James Sawyer was held from the apartments of Funeral Director 
H.D. Oliver, 520 Freemason Street, at 11 o'clock a.m. yesterday.  The 
service was conducted by Rev. Vernon I'Anson, D.D., of Grace Baptist Church.  
The interment was in Magnolia Cemetery, Berkley Ward.
