Virginian Pilot Saturday October 10, 1908

A telegram was received here yesterday announcing the death of the infant of 
Mr. and Mrs. J.E. Sawyer at Gumberry, N.C., which occurred there Thursday.
The remains will arrive here today for funeral and interment in Magnolia 
Cemetery.  Mr. and Mrs. Sawyer were former well known  residents and have 
relatives here.

The funeral of James Edward Sawyer, the infant son of Mr. and Mrs. J.E. 
Sawyer, were laid to rest yesterday in Magnolia Cemetery.  The deceased 
departed this life at Gumberry, N.C. and his remains were accompanied here 
by his parents.
