NORFOLK - Funeral rites were held Thursday at 3 p.m. at First Calvary Baptist
Church for Mrs. Pauline Sawyer, 31, a native of Ahoskie, NC, allegedly slain by
her estranged husband, Lankford David Sawyer, 35, Saturday evening.

Mrs. Sawyer died of multiple wounds sustained at her home, 818 Chapel street.

Mrs. Sawyer was the daughter of Douglas and the late Mrs. Douglas Holley of
Ahoskie, and had lived in Norfolk for seven or eight years.  She had been
married for eight or nine years, but was childless.

Interment took place in  Calvary Cemetery with Morning Glory Funeral Home in
charge.
