  Virginian Pilot Saturday November 3, 1906
E.R.Sawyer died at his home on Thirty-fifth street at 11 o'clock yesterday 
morning after a lingering illness in the 46th year of his age. He is 
survived by a widow and two sons, Rufus and John Sawyer. The funeral will be 
held from his late residence at 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon and will be 
attended by Edgewater Council No. 146 Jr. O.U.A.M., of which the deceased 
was a member. The service will be conducted by Rev. George W. Cox, of the 
Baptist church, assisted by Rev. J.W. Barrett, of the Christian church. The 
interment will be in Cedar Grove cemetery, Norfolk.

SAWYER - At his residence, Thirty fifth street, Lambert's Point, Friday, 
November 2, 1906, at 11:20 a.m., ELISHA R. SAWYER, aged 45 years.
The funeral will take place from the above residence SUNDAY, November 4, at 
3 p.m. Friends and acquaintances respectfully invited to attend.
