Virginian Pilot and The Norfolk Landmark Friday April 24, 1914        

Stephen W. Sawyer, 55 years old, died at the residence of J.T. Hampton, First 
Street, Fairmount Park, at 5:25 o'clock yesterday afternoon. Mr. Sawyer was a 
native of Elizabeth City and has been a resident of Norfolk for the last twenty 
years. He was a charter member of Norfolk Council, No. 2, O.F.A. He was a member 
of the Cumberland Street M.E. Church.  He leaves one brother, W.C. Sawyer, of 
Norfolk.
The funeral will be held at the residence Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock.  Rev. 
J.A Thomas will conduct the services.

SAWYER- At the residence of J.T. Hampton, First street, Fairmount Park, on 
Thursday, April 23, 1914, at 5:25 o'clock p.m., STEPHEN W. SAWYER, aged 55 
years.
Funeral services at the above residence SUNDAY AFTERNOON at 3 o'clock.  Friends 
are invited to attend.
