Sawyer, died at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. N.F. Krippendorf, 3003 Grandy Avenue, yesterday morning at 1 o’clock. She was a native of Princess Anne County and had lived all her life in this section. Death came unexpectedly, although she had been in ill-health. Mrs. Sawyer is survived by six children, Mrs. E.W. Gaither, of Raleigh, N.C.; W.L. Sawyer of Gatesville, N.C.; Mrs. J.E. Marr, of Princess Anne County; Mrs. J.C. Fakes, Mrs. N.F. Krippendorf and F.J. Sawyer, all of Norfolk, three sisters, Mrs. Atella Gregory, of Lynnhaven; Mrs. Ida L. Sale, of San Francisco, and Mrs. W.L. Rodgers, of Norfolk; one brother, Josiah T. Miller, of Oceana; 15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 3 o’clock at the Christian Temple on Thirty-Fourth Street, to which the body will be removed from the Gregory Funeral Home, 3401 Granby Street. The Rev. H.S. Hardcastle will conduct the services, assisted by the Rev. J.B. Garrenton. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
