J. SCALCO, CALIGARI FIRM OFFICIAL, DIES NORFOLK — Vincent Joseph Scalco, 43, vice president of E. Caligari & Sons, Inc., died unexpectedly after a heart attack Sunday at 3:30 p.m. at his home, 3321 Dunkirk Ave. He had been associated with the Caligari firm 25 years. He was a veteran of World War II. A lifelong resident of Norfolk, he was a son of Joseph A. Scalco Sr. and the late Mrs. Rena Sansone Scalco. He was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church and Knights of Pythias Charity Lodge 10. Surviving besides his father are his wife, Mrs. Ollie Moore Scalco; a daughter, Miss Betty Jo Scalco; two sons, Vincent J. Scalco Jr. and Eugene Scalco; three sisters, Mrs. S. A. Meads Jr., Mrs. W. R. Shepherd and Mrs. S. J. Ashbee, and a brother, Joseph A. Scalco Jr., all of Norfolk. The body was taken to Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home. A mass will be celebrated at Christ the King Catholic Church Tuesday at 10 a.m. A rosary service will be held at the funeral home today at 7:30 p.m. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
