VIRGINIA BEACH - Joseph Angelo Scalco, 73, of 4337 Lynnville Crescent, died Monday 
in his home.

A native of Italy, he lived here 50 years. He was the husband of the late Mrs. 
Rena Sansone Scalco and a son of Vincent P. and Mrs. Pauline Scalco.

He was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. William R. Shepherd of Norfolk, Mrs. Pauline 
Couch, and Mrs. Samuel J. Ashbee of Virginia Beach; a son, Joseph A. Scalco Jr. of 
Norfolk; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

The office of the dead will be recited tonight at 7:30 in H. D. Oliver Funeral 
Apartments, Laskin Road.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. in St. Nicholas Catholic 
Church. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
