She was a native of Nansemond County, and had been a resident of Norfolk for the past 53 years, prior to which time she resided in Williamston, N.C., for some time. She was the widow of John T, Scarborough and daughter of the late James and Mrs. Margaret Babb Carnahan. Mrs. Scarborough lived with her son, John T. Scarborough, Jr., at 185 Orleans circle. In addition to her son, she is survived by three daughters, Mrs. N.G. Holland, Norfolk; Mrs. N.O. Keeter, Lansdale, Norfolk County, and Mrs. A.S. Grinalds, Macon, Ga.; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was the oldest member of Berkkley Avenue Baptist Church. Funeral services will be conducted at the Cox funeral Home, 631 Westover avenue, corner Manteo street, tomorrow afternoon at 3:30 o'clock. The Rev. Beecher L. Rhodes, D.D., pastor of Berkley Avenue Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in the family plot in Elmwood Cemetery.
