Norfolk Virginian Pilot January 28, 1947

Mrs. Rosa Cacace Scelzi, aged 86 years, widow of Rocco Scelzi and daughter of 
the late Joseph and Mrs. Elena Fingel Cacace, a native of Sorrento, Italy and a 
resident of Norfolk for 70 years, died yesterday at 4 a.m. at the residence, 216 
West Twentieth Street. Mrs. Scelzi was a member and one of the founders of Cuore 
di Maria Gorizia Loggia, No. 619. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. 
Angelina Lettieri, of Exmore and Mrs. John Diamond, of Norfolk; two sons, John 
B. Scelzi, of Virginia Beach and Joseph V. Scelzi, of Quantico; three 
grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. The body will be taken from the 
H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments to St. Mary's Catholic Church for services 
Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. 
Rosary services will be held at the Oliver Funeral Apartments Tuesday evening at 
7:30 o'clock.

SCELZI, ROSA CACACE - At the residence, No. 216 West Twentieth Street, Monday, 
January 27, 1947, at 5 o'clock a.m., ROSA CACACE, widow of Rocco Scelzi, and 
daughter of the late Joseph and Elena Fingel Cacace, in the 87th year of her 
age. 
Remains will be taken from the H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, No. 1501 Colonial 
Avenue, to St. Mary's Catholic Church for services WEDNESDAY MORNING at 10 
o'clock. Friends of the family are invited to attend. Interment, St. Mary's 
Cemetery.
