A native of Kritzkow, Germany, he had made his home in this section for 64 years. He was the son of the late William John George and Sophia Mariah Grottman Scheuermann and husband of the late Hattie Eleanor Bell Scheuermann. He is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Clarence W. Kuaethem, of Norfolk; Mrs. Joseph James Davis and Mrs. Nellie Rountrey, of South Norfolk; Mrs. Fred Dickinson, of Rockingham, N.C. and Mrs. Clay Askew, of West Norfolk; two sons, William Ottie Sherman, of Norfolk and George Earl Sherman, of Long Beach, Calif; a sister, Mrs. Katherine Stewart, of Philadelphia; a half- sister, Mrs. Robert Crump, of Cumberland, Md.; 20 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Mr. Schceuermann was a member of Chesapeake Avenue Methodist Church, South Norfolk Lodge 330, A.F. & A.M. and a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge, South Norfolk. Funeral services will be conducted at the Francis A. Gay Funeral Home Wednesday at 4 p.m. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
