Norfolk Virginian Pilot Friday December 27, 1946

Edmond Bailey Schmus, 80, son of the late Henry and Gazina Spetherns Schmus, 
a native and lifelong resident of Norfolk, died at a local hospital 
Wednesday at 5:35 p.m. after an extended illness. 
He is survived by three sons, J. H. Schmus, of Fentress H.L Schmus, of 
Miami, Fla., and J. S. Schmus, of Portsmouth; a brother, Charles Schmus, of 
Norfolk; a grandchild, James C. Schmus of Portsmouth, and a number of nieces 
and nephews. 
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Ewell & Williamson Funeral Home 
tomorrow at 2:30 p.m., the Rev. Vernon L. Fisher, D. D., pastor of the 
Cradock Presbyterian Church, officiating. Interment will be in Elmwood 
Cemetery.
